The National Lottery Star Programme is designed to promote 'best in class' Lottery retailing and maximise sales and profitability for all National Lottery Retail Agents.  There are four components of the Star Programme and each is explained below.  

 

 

"Lottery is the most profitable two feet of space in your store".

The Lottery category commands the greatest share of spend of all FMCG categories.  

 

Lottery Draw Games and Scratch Cards are two of the most impulsive products in FMCG with 40% and 75% respectively.  Positioning impacts sales potential, presentation determines sales performance. 

 


 

Star Mark is the measurement against the new 'Star Store' standard of excellence in Lottery retailing and will ensure opportunities for sales growth in your store are fully maximized.  Your store will be audited on a regular basis and scored against the criteria in the programme.  

 

A Star Mark score will be awarded for each audit. The scope to make improvements to positioning, product range, display & merchandising standards along with opportunities to proactively drive sales in-store will be identified and communicated through the audit.

  • Professional sales support via field sales and telesales
  • Structured business calls on a regular cycle.
  • Field sales on 4 & 8 weekly cycles.
  • Telesales calls on 2 & 4 weekly cycles.
  • Focused sales development and joint business planning.
  • Regular store audits driving profitability.
  • Automatic order replenishment driven by a new & highly sophisticated predictive order system.  

 

 

The National Lottery Star Rewards is an initiative that has been designed to drive the overall National Lottery Star Store programme at retail level by incentivising agents to fully engage in the programme and help maximise the selling opportunity and drive profitability in store.  

 

A comprehensive incentive package has been established that will see all retail agents tho achieve a Star Mark rating of 8, 9 or 10 Stars rewarded for their support and commitment to the Star Store programme.
